The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the growth of Wyoming’s economy.  To accomplish its goals, the Wyoming Business Council helps retain and expand existing Wyoming Businesses and industries; recruits targeted businesses to the state; and works with communities to develop infrastructure to become business-ready.  The Business Council’s divisions include Agribusiness; Business and Industry; Investment Ready Communities; Support Services; Travel and Tourism; and Field Operations.

Karla Fiebelkorn, Gillette, Wyoming

Karla Fiebelkorn was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin, the second child of five children. She married and moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1973 to own and manage the Big Horn Motel until 1979.

She moved to Gillette in 1979 and went to work for Gillette N. O. Nelson in 1980 as an inventory clerk. She has held numerous positions, including vice president, with the company, which changed its name to Gillette Winnelson. Gillette Winnelson is a wholesaler of plumbing and industrial supplies associated with the Winholesale group that has over 400 stores across the nation. She bought stock in Gillette Winnelson and became the president of the company in 1988. In 1996 she started a new store in Rapid City, SD and later reorganized a fastener store in Casper with a new market and manager. She has been the regional business consultant for eight Wyoming Winholesale stores and four in northern Colorado. She has since stepped down from that job and only oversees the store in Gillette, so she can be more involved with the community and state.

She is presently serving on the Campbell County Economic Development Corporation-Committee chairman for Advocacy for local Business; Campbell County Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors; Advisory Board for Gillette First Interstate Bank; Campbell County Republican Women; Gillette Rotary Club; National Association of Purchasing Managers; Festival of Trees Executive committee; Campbell County Chamber of Commerce Energizers (ambassadors); Past Board member of Campbell County Chamber of Commerce.

She is married to Kenneth, and has one son, one grandson, two stepdaughters and four step-grandchildren.
