Jim Davis, Evanston, Wyoming
Jim Davis is the Director of Administrative Services for the City of Evanston, Wyoming. His wife of thirty-six years, Bonnie, owns and operates Home Décor, a retail gift and interior decorating business in historic downtown Evanston.
In 2004, the Governor of Wyoming appointed Mr. Davis to serve on the Advisory Board for the Wyoming Main Street Program. Also in 2004, he served his ninth year on the Board of Advisors for the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Mr. Davis has served as the Executive Director for the City of Evanston’s Urban Renewal Agency. The agency's mission is to revitalize the downtown historic district. He currently serves as a staff member for the Evanston Historic Preservation Commission. Jim is a founding member and past chair of the Tracks Across Wyoming, a partnership of southern Wyoming organizations and individuals, formed to promote heritage tourism along the historic Transcontinental Railroad Corridor. He had sixteen-year career with JC Penney and Allstate Insurance Companies. His work in the corporate world included living in Salt Lake City, Denver, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Mr. Davis graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor Degree in general business administration, and he is a 1993 graduate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Preservation Leadership Training.
Mr. Davis and his wife have two children, three grandchildren, and two dogs.
