About Casper

Casper, Wyoming
is central to Wyoming and the Rocky Mountains.
It is located on the Mormon Trail and Oregon Trail (National Historic Trails) and within driving distance of national parks and monuments.

Casper was settled on the banks of the North Platte River in the late 1800s. As the point of convergence for all major westward trails - Oregon Trail, California Trail, Mormon Trail, Bridger Trail, Bozeman Trail, and Pony Express Trail - the community developed as a crossroads to the West and North West.

The city is located in the North Platte River Valley, with Casper Mountain rising 3,000 feet above the city, just minutes away.
