With nearly 40 years of experience in the ski resort business, Jerry Blann is one of the most well known and respected ski industry leaders. Since 1995, Mr. Blann has been the President and Board Member of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort where he has overseen the resort through several years of intense development, most recently focused on the expansion of new terrain as well as guiding the resort to reach over 560,000 skier visits this past winter. In addition, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort was named the #1 Ski Resort in North America by Ski Magazine for the 2013/14 winter ski season. In 2008 Mr. Blann also lead the replacement of Jackson’s iconic aerial tram, North America’s longest vertical at a ski resort.
Mr. Blann serves on the Jackson Hole Airport Board and is on the Executive Committee of JH AIR, a community non-profit, which annually negotiates with major airlines for non-stop flights into Jackson currently including Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, New York City, Minneapolis St. Paul, Seattle, Newark, and San Francisco. JH AIR has seen a continual increase in air capacity into Jackson since its inception; this accomplishment has been seen as a significant advancement for the community and the resort.
Jerry serves on the Wyoming Business Alliance, a statewide organization whose purpose is to promote and diversify Wyoming’s Economy as well as Educational structure; the Teton Village Association, Improvement Service District, which was formed in 1998 to support the fiscal and operational needs of Teton Village, an unincorporated portion of Teton County. Jerry has been on that Board since inception.
Previously, Mr. Blann led development at Lake Catamount Joint Ventures in Steamboat Springs and was President of Bear Mountain in California, as well as Aspen Ski Company, where he had worked for 18 years.
He recently served on the National Ski Area Association (NSAA) Board and was Chairman of the Environmental Committee for ten years.
Mr. Blann grew up in the ski world. His father was the General Manager of Mt. Bachelor in Bend, OR for 25 years. In 1966, he earned a scholarship to the University of Denver and was on the ski team for four years. During that time the team won the NCAA championship three times. In 1969, Blann was named All-American and honored as America's outstanding collegiate athlete. Mr. Blann is married and has four daughters.
