About the Agribusiness Division

The Wyoming Business Council Agribusiness Division assists farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses with marketing, business development assistance and training programs. Whether through one-on-one consultation, small workshops or large conferences, the mission is to help sustain farm and ranch families. Specific Agribusiness Division programs are linked to three main functions within the division:

• Leadership development and education for agricultural producers and agribusinesses;
• Business development assistance to agriculture producers and agribusinesses;
• Development and expansion of domestic and international marketing
• opportunities for agricultural products.

The Agribusiness Division promotes Wyoming agricultural businesses by producing a variety of promotional and marketing material. The Business Council maintains a Farm, Ranch and Agribusiness directory, both in print and an online version (Ag Directory Online), develops agricultural industry promotional videos and prints an annual Wyoming Agricultural Statistics Booklet.

The Agribusiness Division also develops and distributes Wyoming agricultural postcards for distribution at tourism centers. In August 2005, the division launched a quarterly marketing newsletter called Agtivities, which is distributed free to ag producers and agribusiness professionals.

2012 AG PHOTO CONTEST

The Wyoming Business Council's Agribusiness Division is now accepting photos for its 5th Annual Ag Photo Contest.

Amateurs, professionals, youth and adults may submit photos to the Agribusiness Division until Sept. 1, 2012. While there are no subject categories, all submissions must be agriculture related and taken in Wyoming. Photos could include crops; livestock and farm animals; ag recreation and activities; or scenic agriculture. Photos may be in color or black and white. Contestants may submit multiple photos to the contest.

All contestants are eligible for the Grand Prize of $300. Adult contestants may win $150 and $75 for 1st and 2nd places respectively. Youth contestants may win $50 and $25 for 1st and 2nd places respectively. Winning photos will also be used in the 2013 AgriCulture Calendar issued in fall 2012.
