Help is available to expand your market outside the United States.
Wyoming International Trade Assistance Program (WITAP)
International trade can be enormously beneficial for entrepreneurs and enables producers of goods and services to move beyond the U.S. market of over approximately 300 million people to the world market of about 6.2 billion. It allows Wyoming companies to diversify and seek out alternative markets. The key to a successful international strategy is to choose a global market that fits with the company’s products and its strengths. Once that is decided, then properly controlling the variables – such as marketing and customer service – will maximize success.
For many small companies importing and exporting is becoming an essential cornerstone in achieving success, yet it requires knowledge of business disciplines far beyond the basic do’s and don’ts of operating a local/domestic business.
The WITAP program is a partnership between Manufacturing Works, WyomingEntrepreneur.biz, and the Wyoming Business Council. The goal is to provide Wyoming businesses with the resources to assist their expansion into the global marketplace.
Assistance will vary depending on the business and industry and includes, but is not limited to: country-specific market research, funding options, operational issues, and technical and product development guidance.
The program is co-directed by George Rex, Manufacturing-Works Associate, and Anya Petersen-Frey, Regional Director for WyomingEntrepreneur.biz. Please contact either Anya or George to get learn more:
