Residential Photovoltaic
Good News!

Consumers who install solar electric systems can receive a 30 percent federal income tax credit for systems placed in service from Jan. 1, 2006 through Dec. 31, 2016. Complementing the income tax credit is the Wyoming State Energy Office Residential Photovoltaic Grant Program.

The Wyoming State Energy Office will be granting half the cost of installing a system up to $2,000. When the income tax credit and the Residential Photovoltaic Grant are used the out of pocket costs of a $20,000 system could be $12,000.
The Wyoming State Energy Office will be accepting applications for 2009 between the 1st and 3rd Mondays in June. (June 1, 2009 through June 16, 2009). Applications will be accepted by email, fax, regular mail or hand delivery.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on the third Monday in June. After the close of the application period, if more than 37 applications are received, a random drawing will be held to determine which applicants will receive grants. A total of thirty-seven (37) grants will be awarded.

No system components can be funded that are purchased or installed prior to the last signature being affixed to the grant agreement between the Wyoming State Energy Office and the property owner. The mailing address of the applicant and the physical address where the system will be installed are also required.

Only one grant per applicant, per residence is permitted.
