Community Assessment Team Members wanted

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Rural Development Council will hold a Community Assessment Team Member Training on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Best Western Douglas Inn.
The community assessment teams are facilitated by the Wyoming Rural Development Council, as well as the Wyoming Business Council. Staff and volunteers from various agencies hold listening sessions for the public, prepare a report based on what they were told and present their findings to the municipality. Community assessments provide communities an affordable process to assess their problems and challenges, identify their assets, and define goals and projects that they would like to achieve, with hopes that this will lead to long-range planning. The objective of community assessments is to provide to experts in economic and community development of rural communities assistance with locally conceived and driven development strategies. Anyone interested in helping to maintain Wyoming’s rural communities is welcome to become a resource team member. Team members have the opportunity to learn the history of Wyoming communities, meet new people and shape the future of rural Wyoming.
