Wyoming Main Street Program announces changes to revolving loan program

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Main Street Program is currently accepting applications for their newly revised Revolving Loan Fund, according to Main Street Program Manager Evan Medley.

The goal of the loan program is to provide low-interest funds to aid in the renovation of buildings in traditional downtown commercial districts. Downtown business owners can use the money for façade or structural renovations to their buildings including roof, exterior wall assembly, foundation, windows, doors, cornice treatment, awnings and canopies. The program is open to any business or property owner in the commercial area of any Wyoming municipality. Applicants need not live in a designated Wyoming Main Street Community.

Medley says the Revolving Loan Fund will offer downtown business owners up to $100,000 at 4 percent interest with a 15-year payback. There is a 1 percent origination fee, payable as a lump sum at the beginning of the loan term, and a 0.5 percent servicing fee that applies over the entire loan term.

Applicants for the program must complete three documents and their components:  an application, a certification form and a checklist. The documents are available at the Wyoming Main Street Office at 1509 Carey Ave. in Cheyenne or on the web at www.wyomingmainstreet.org. The timeline for processing a loan application will be roughly four to six weeks and the Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors will have final approval of the loans at their quarterly meetings.

This program follows the Main Street Four Point Approach in which design, promotion, organization and economic restructuring are simultaneously targeted to build a sustainable and complete community revitalization effort.

For more information, contact Medley at 307.777.2934 or evan.medley@wybusiness.org.
