High Performance School Design seminar to be held in Casper

CASPER, Wyo. - The U.S. Department of Energy, the Wyoming State Energy Office, and Wyoming Rebuild America through the Converse Area New Development Organization (CANDO) will be hosting a one-day seminar on high performance school design at the Robert Commons Ballroom on the Casper College Campus on Feb. 1.

The seminars will bring together professionals with backgrounds in high performance building design, construction, operation and technologies. They will be addressing topics such as high performance school design; managing and tracking utility costs; building automation systems and control; energy-efficient lighting and more.

The seminar is designed for K-12 school superintendents, College Presidents, business officials, college and school board members, architects, engineers, facilities and energy managers, and others interested in energy-smart design, technologies and practices.

“As Wyoming builds new schools, conserving natural resources and reducing the operating cost of these public buildings is a necessity,” said Tom Fuller, Wyoming Energy Program Manager. “High performance building design will be at the forefront because it not only makes financial sense but it produces buildings that enhance the education of the students.”

To find out more about the High Performance Design Seminar, visit the web site or contact CANDO at (307) 358-2000.
