Virtual community planning library is now available

CHEYENNE – A digital archive of community-planning documents is now available to Wyoming's cities, towns and counties at http://will.state.wy.us/planning/index.html.

The Wyoming State Library and the Wyoming Business Council have worked together to develop the digital archive of plans which have been submitted for Community Development Block Grant and Business Ready Communities Grant and Loan programs. The archive creates a clearinghouse of applicable ideas, processes, and techniques.

“These plans are useful not only to the community in which the plan was prepared, but for other communities facing similar challenges in terms of growth and development,” said Shawn Reese, Business Ready Communities Program Manager. “The digital archive is a work-in-progress, and we hope communities will submit plans to be shared in this virtual planning library.”

Through the archive, a community can search for plans by geographic area or topic, such as downtown development, historic preservation or land use.

The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the economic growth of Wyoming. For more information, please visit the Web site at www.wyomingbusiness.org.
