Wyoming 2004 Mineral and Energy Yearbook is released
CHEYENNE – The State Energy Program has released its Wyoming 2004 Mineral and Energy Yearbook.
The Wyoming Business Council administers the State Energy Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. The program works to expand opportunities for alternative or renewable energy use in Wyoming using domestic fuels or resources.
This report outlines the distribution and status of the mineral industry in Wyoming during 2004. An overview of the minerals produced in the state and the status of each county’s mineral industry are detailed in the report. The 120-page yearbook is available as a PDF on the Web site.
“The yearbook has evolved over time, but it remains a unique snapshot of the Wyoming energy and minerals industries," said Dale Hoffman, State Energy Program Manager and the individual primarily responsible for production of the Energy Minerals Yearbook for 27 years.
The yearbook reviews yearly production figures for the state’s primary mineral commodities: bentonite, coal, natural gas, petroleum, trona and uranium. The production projections for the next five years give an indication of predicted growth or decline of a particular mineral commodity in both the state and individual counties.
The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the economic growth of Wyoming. For more information, please visit the Web site at www.wyomingbusiness.org.
