Venture West launches $100,000 fundraising campaign
LARAMIE – Venture West Network Inc. launched a campaign yesterday to raise $100,000 to support entrepreneurship and angel investor activities in Wyoming.
Venture West, a Wyoming not-for-profit organization, provides networking and educational opportunities that create and foster a climate that enables entrepreneurship to thrive.
“This campaign will enable Venture West to continue to provide its unique services to the entrepreneur and investor communities in Wyoming,” said campaign chairman Michael Peck, of First Interstate Bank. “We hope to close out the campaign by February 1, 2007, and to then move into expanding our programs and institutionalizing our operations for the long term.”
Over its five year history, Venture West has featured more than 60 startup companies and their entrepreneurs, as well as renowned investor, entrepreneur, and economic development speakers from around the United States. Several hundred people have attended Venture West events around the state of Wyoming.
Venture West, founded in 2000 by First Interstate Bank, The Blue Sky Group Inc., the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Business Council, supports a diversified Wyoming economy through entrepreneurship. For more information, visit www.venturewest.org.
