CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Farmers Marketing Association will host the 2007 Farmers’ Market Conference Feb. 6 at the Ramkota in Casper. The Wyoming Business Council is a sponsor of the event along with Wyoming Rural Development Council.

The conference is aimed at farmers’ market vendors and organizers of farmers’ markets throughout Wyoming. Topics at the conference include: Developing a Food Safety Plan When Selling Your Products at Farmers’ Markets; Partnering for Effective Promotion of Your Farmers’ Market; How to Increase Your Yields Through Soil Fertility and Mulching; What Makes or Breaks a Farmers’ Market?; Making Money at Farmers’ Markets—What Works and What Doesn’t; and Producer Panel.

“This conference is not just for managers, but for vendors who want to gain more information on marketing and farming techniques,” said Ted Craig, value-added program manager of the Wyoming Business Council.

The conference also includes the Wyoming Farmers Marketing Association Annual Meeting, a reception and an annual banquet including a speaker on Selecting Plant Varieties to Increase Nutritional Content.

Registration for the conference is $25 and can be done on-line through the University of Wyoming’s Conferences and Institutes’ Web site at http://outreach.uwyo.edu/conferences/Calendar/. For more information, contact Craig, at 307.777.6578, e-mail Craig, or visit www.wyomingfarmersmarkets.org.
