Business Council offers produce trade mission to Mexico
CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Business Council Agribusiness Division is looking for Wyoming producers of potatoes, onions, squash or dry beans to take on a produce trade mission to Mexico May 15-19.
The Business Council and the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association, will coordinate the produce mission. During the mission, the companies will meet with produce buyers and tour the Central Market in Monterrey, Mexico.
“So far this year Wyoming has shipped 56 semi loads of potatoes and 49 semi loads of dry beans to Mexico,” said Ted Craig, Wyoming Business Council Value-Added Program Manager. “It is important for companies to see where the produce goes and the opportunities they have in Mexico.”
Additionally, the mission will include a tour of the border facilities at Laredo, TX and meetings with border officials. A $150 non-reimbursable participation fee will be required of each company. Space is limited to 10 companies.
Wyoming producers of potatoes, onions, squash or dry beans who are interested in joining this mission should contact Ted Craig at 307-777-6578.
The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the economic growth of Wyoming. For more information, please visit the Web site at www.wyomingbusiness.org.
