Business Council offers summer marketing opportunities
CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Business Council is offering Cowboy State businesses five opportunities to market their products to the public as well as wholesale merchandise buyers this summer.
Each year the Business Council contracts to sell Wyoming products for Wyoming producers at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Wyoming State Fair. This year the same opportunity is available to Wyoming producers during the Devils Tower Centennial.
The WBC’s General Mercantile store at Cheyenne Frontier Days will once again be open on the grounds of Frontier Park, July 21-30. The Mercantile is limited in space and only the first 40 applications will be accepted. Wyoming products applying for consignment at the General Mercantile must be western, frontier or uniquely Wyoming.
After Cheyenne Frontier Days, the inventory from the General Mercantile will be taken to the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas. The products will be sold in the Wyoming Products Pavilion on State Fair grounds from August 12-19. Individual booth space for the week is also available to Wyoming businesses for $50.
Devils Tower will host a Cowboy Festival July 22-23 at the KOA Campground near Devil’s Tower. The Wyoming Business Council will be taking Wyoming products that are western, frontier or uniquely Wyoming to sell on behalf of the producers. Early attendance estimates have over 8,000 visitors coming to the event.
The Denver Merchandise Mart’s Gift and Jewelry Show will be held August 26-29 and the Wyoming Business Council has reserved space for Wyoming made products. This wholesale show attracts almost 6,000 merchandise buyers from across the country. There is a $250 fee for Wyoming businesses wishing to participate.
The Western English Sales Association (WESA) will also produce a show for wholesale buyers in Denver Sept. 10-12 featuring everything from Western tack and apparel, to raw leather and apparel and jewelry. The fee to attend this show is $250.
