Business Council offers summer marketing opportunities
CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Business Council is offering Cowboy State businesses three opportunities to market their products to the public as well as wholesale merchandise buyers this summer. Each year the Business Council contracts to sell Wyoming products for Wyoming companies at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Wyoming State Fair.
The Business Council’s General Mercantile store at Wild Horse Gulch during Cheyenne Frontier Days will once again be open on the grounds of Frontier Park, July 20-29. The Mercantile is limited in space and only the first 40 qualifying applications will be accepted. Wyoming products applying for consignment at the General Mercantile must be western, frontier or uniquely Wyoming.
After Cheyenne Frontier Days, the inventory from the General Mercantile will be taken to the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas. The products will be sold in the Wyoming Products Pavilion on the State Fair grounds from August 11-18. Any Wyoming company can participate in this venue. Individual booth space for the week is also available to Wyoming businesses for $50.
The Denver Merchandise Mart’s Gift and Jewelry Show will be held August 25-27 and the Wyoming Business Council has reserved space for Wyoming made products. This wholesale show attracts almost 6,000 merchandise buyers from across the country. There is a $500 fee for Wyoming businesses wishing to participate.
Annie Wood is the contact for vendors wishing to get into the Cheyenne Frontier Days store and the Denver Merchandise Mart and can be reached at 307.777.2844. Kim Porter is the contact for the Wyoming Products Pavilion at the State Fair and can be contacted at 777.6319.
