Wyoming Business Council teams up with
partners for Energy Efficiency Awareness Day
CHEYENNE – With the expectation of cold weather arriving soon and the increase in energy use, a partnership of Wyoming energy efficiency experts is offering consumers an opportunity to learn more about ways to conserve their energy usage while reducing their energy bills.
Energy Efficiency Awareness Day is Saturday, Sept. 29 and the partnership of Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power (CLFP) has teamed with several retail home improvement centers, as well as the Wyoming Public Service Commission (WPSC), Wyoming Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA), Wyoming Business Council (WBC) and the Wyoming Energy Council (WEC) to sponsor educational booths at Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and Home Depot stores in Cheyenne. Representatives from each of the partners will man a booth offering energy efficiency tips from low-cost bulb replacements to energy efficiencies that can be built into new homes. They will also be available to direct consumers to products and services which can help offset high energy prices.
As an added incentive, the first 100 consumers to visit each booth will receive a free compact florescent light bulb.
“The emphasis of Energy Efficiency Awareness Day is to get people to become aware of all the little things they can do to become more energy efficient,” said Kathy Emmons, Manager of Government and Public Affairs for Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power. “A small example is to switch out an incandescent light bulb for a florescent. It is a simple action, but it leads to practical action that we can all do to become energy efficient.”
The mission of the Wyoming Business Council is to facilitate the economic growth of Wyoming. For more information, please visit the Web site at www.wyomingbusiness.org.
