Wyoming companies encouraged to attend Denver Mart
CHEYENNE – Wyoming companies looking for new markets for their products are encouraged to join the Wyoming Business Council at the Denver Merchandise Mart Feb. 23-26.
The Wyoming Business Council will accept applications for the 2008 Denver Gift, Jewelry and Resort Show through Dec.
The Denver Gift, Jewelry and Resort is a wholesale show with over 7000 buyers from around the world. It is considered the major market for souvenir and resort merchandise, and includes one of the largest selections of Native American, rustic, lodge-style and western products in the country.
Sandy Bath, President of JB’s Wild Wyoming of Lander has been attending the Denver Mart for the past five years and says it has netted her company nearly 50 new accounts.
“The interesting thing is, to find wholesalers in Wyoming, you really need to go to Colorado,” Bath said. “But that is exactly what happened. You can find your market whether you are looking strictly in the state of Wyoming or through the nation because there are people there from all over the country,” said Bath.
Bath also said the show is a good place to find account reps or just get new ideas, pointing out several buyers have asked her about innovations to her existing line, which has helped her expand.
The show runs Saturday through Monday from 9:00am-6:00pm with exception of Feb. 26, when the show will run from 9:00am-2:00pm.
“The buyers at this show come from gift shops as well as small niche stores from around the country. This is a great show to make contacts with potential buyers placing orders on site,” said Wyoming Business Council Senior Marketing and Attraction Specialist Annie Wood.
