Agribusiness Ag Photo Contest

Amateurs, professionals, youth and adults may submit photos to the Agribusiness Division. While there are no subject categories, all submissions must be agriculture related and taken in Wyoming. Photos could include crops; livestock and farm animals; ag recreation and activities; or scenic agriculture. Photos may be in color or black and white. Contestants may submit multiple photos to the contest.

All contestants are eligible for the Grand Prize of $300. Adult contestants may win $150 and $75 for 1st and 2nd places respectively. Youth contestants may win $50 and $25 for 1st and 2nd places respectively. Winning photos will also be used in the AgriCulture Calendar.

Agribusiness 4th Annual Ag Photo Contest Winners Announced:

Adult winners received $300 for grand prize, $150 for first place and $75 for second place photographs. Youth winners were awarded $50 for first place and $25 for second. All award winning photos will be featured in the 2012 AgriCulture Calendar later this year.

“We keep getting more pictures and new contestants every year,” said Terri Barr, senior Agribusiness Division marketing specialist. “There has been an increase in contestants and photographs of about 25 to 30 percent, making it more difficult to select prize winners from so many great pictures. We’re really pleased with the contest’s popularity.” The Agribusiness Division received nearly 300 photographs submitted by 49 adult and youth contestants, both professional and amateur.

Many submitted photos will be featured in marketing pieces and brochures used by the Agribusiness Division, including the annual Wyoming Ag Postcard distributed to all Wyoming Visitor Centers, and the 2012 AgriCulture calendar.

The 2012 AgriCulture Calendar will be sent to all AGtivities magazine subscribers, a publication of the Agribusiness Division. For non-subscribers, a free copy of the calendar may be obtained by contacting Barr at 307-777-2807 or terri.barr@wyo.gov.
